Bleep UK PLC supplied a complete EPOS and Payment solution for the merchandise stores and catering concessions at the 148th Open Golf Championship at Portrush in Northern Ireland, which ran from the 18th to the 21st July.
This prestigious installation consisted of 42 Bleep TS-913 terminals throughout the retail stores, each with built-in laser scanners for scanning barcodes, receipt printers and customer-facing POS Media displays, for point of sale advertising and engagement.
Also, for the first time, a further 48 EPOS terminals were installed across all the mobile catering outlets, with these luxury, high output, hot and cold food kiosks in the spectator village and around the course.
Each EPOS terminal was directly integrated with an Ingenico iPP350 pin pad for fast and secure card payment processing – with no manual keying errors.
All terminals reported back to Bleep’s cloud-based Web Back Office, allowing for live, real-time, sales and stock information for management staff, from any internet-enabled device, in any location.
Bleep UK PLC CEO, John Wellman said, “It is always an honour to supply this event and we look forward to continuing to do so. Our proven track record deploying our event rental solution in the retail store cannot be questioned and now we have successfully managed to deliver the same for the catering outlets.”
“This is a high pressured, fast-paced environment – with this year’s championship having a record attendance of over 230,000 visitors. Therefore, it is imperative we delivered an efficient, effective and secure EPOS and Payment solution that could cope with the demands of these high-footfall retail and catering environments.”
